Kayla Kosaki (she/her) is a queer yonsei uchinanchu artist and educator based out of Cleveland, OH. Born and raised in Hilo, Hawai'i, her work toward social justice is guided by her sense of place as well as her love and responsibility to her home and the many communities she's privileged to be a part of. Prior to joining the Center for Cultural Power, Kayla worked toward equity and inclusion in higher education, serving as a coordinator of cultural center spaces as well as an executive board member for the California Council for Cultural Centers in Higher Education (CaCCCHE). An educator at heart, Kayla is passionate about facilitating idea- and hope-generating spaces to activate communities toward social change. In her free time, Kayla enjoys hiking, cooking, and cuddling with her dog, Kina.
